Skans Eyewear Goes Into A Museum

Skans Eyewear Joins Permanent Exhibition At The British Optical Association Museum - Marking A New Era Of Eyewear
Copenhagen / London, March 2025 — Skans Eyewear is now part of the permanent collection of the British Optical Association Museum, the world’s oldest museum dedicated to the history of vision and eyewear through science, medicine, design and innovation.
Skans takes the lead in 21st-century design and innovation — distinguished through business transparency, accountability, and high environmental & social standards.
“Being recognized by the British Optical Association Museum and featured among iconic eyewear milestones making Skans part of eyewear history is a proud moment for us, says Johanna Skans, founder of Skans. But, more importantly, it reflects a growing recognition within the optical industry: that we have entered a new Era of Eyewear representing a necessary evolution, that eyewear today must serve a higher purpose than style and function — it must be designed to protect and regenerate both people and planet, she says.”
