Skans Founder Co-Founds Frame The Future

Sustainability has always been at the heart for Skans. But for founder Johanna Skans, creating real impact means looking beyond her own company and joining forces with others to create large scale systems that work in harmony with nature and people.

This belief led her to co-found Frame The Future – The Responsible Eyewear Alliance, the first global collaborative platform dedicated to catalysing positive change in the optical industry.

The idea began when Johanna met Xenia Glutz von Blotzheim, Global Brand Director at MYKITA, during their Business Sustainability studies at the University of Cambridge. In 2024, together with Andrew Clark, founder of NetZero Eyecare, they established Frame The Future - The Responsible Eyewear Alliance, to unite the industry, foster collaboration & accelerate responsible actions across the entire value chain.

Frame the Future held its inaugural meeting during MIDO 2025.
